WEST UNION, W.Va. — Strong performances in the circle highlighted Monday's matchup, but Doddridge did just enough offensively to slip past Bridgeport, 3-1.

Doddridge took an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on a dropped third strike to plate the game's first run.

Bridgeport starter Addison Mike delivered a solid outing despite taking the loss, working all six innings while allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

Bridgeport showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, but struggled to convert opportunities into runs. Van Zant led the offense, going 2-for-4 with the team's lone RBI. Messenger, Clark, and Rovello each added two walks.

Defensively, the Lady Indians were sharp, committing no errors and turning a double play.

Bridgeport will look to bounce back Tuesday when it travels to Fairmont Senior.
