Travis Jones

Travis Jones has served as the Voice Of The Indians since 1993. The Vienna, West Virginia native began his radio career at 15 in Marietta, Ohio at WEYQ-FM/WBRJ-AM. Jones moved to Charleston in 1991 to work at WVSR before taking a position at WVAQ-FM Morgantown in 1992. Jones has served as the Program Director of WKKW-FM Morgantown, WVAQ-FM, 101.3 The Bear Buckhannon, SKY 106.5 Clarksburg, 103.3 WKMZ Clarksburg and as the Director of Operations for West Virginia Radio Corporation in Clarksburg. Jones is currently the Vice President of WVRC-Media and MetroNews in Morgantown.  

Travis was the play-by-play voice of Salem International University from 1995-2001 before being named the play-by-play voice of the West Virginia University women's basketball team on the Mountaineer Sports Network from 2001-2013. During that time Jones was also the public address announcer at Mountaineer Field for WVU football. 

In addition to serving as the Voice Of The Indians, Jones is also currently the play-by-play voice of the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons football and men's basketball teams on Sky 1065 Clarksburg since 2013. Jones is also on the play-by-play team for the Super Six, boy's and girl's state tournament network and Mountain East Conference tournament network on the MetroNews Radio Network.

Jones has also called national radio games for the Bowl Season Radio Network including the Birmingham Bowl, Celebration Bowl, Duke's Mayo Bowl, Myrtle Beach Bowl, Fenway Bowl, Bahamas Bowl, and Military Bowl on Sirius XM Radio.

The West Virginia Broadcasters Association has awarded Jones eight play-by-play of the year awards and two awards for best sportscasts of the year award. 

Jones is the current President of the football boosters and is a member of the Bridgeport High School Hall Of Fame Class of 2022. He resides in Bridgeport with his wife Kristi and son Cameron, who is a 2023 graduate of BHS.
