BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — A dominant offensive performance propelled Bridgeport to a 17-2 victory over East Fairmont on Tuesday at Bridgeport High School.
Avery Humble led the charge with a standout day at the plate, collecting three hits in four at-bats, including a solo home run in the third inning, a triple, and a single.
Bridgeport set the tone early, scoring two runs in the first inning on a double by Messenger. The Lady Indians added another run in the second on a Van Zant double before Humble's solo home run in the third extended the lead.
The game broke wide open in the fourth inning when Bridgeport erupted for 13 runs. The inning featured a mix of timely hitting and capitalizing on East Fairmont miscues. Mike, Van Zant, and Messenger each delivered doubles, while Corder, Clark, and Humble added run-scoring hits as the Lady Indians surged ahead.
Messenger powered the middle of the lineup, driving in four runs in a 2-for-3 performance. Van Zant and Humble each recorded three hits, while Clark added two more as part of a 12-hit attack.
Mike earned the win in the circle, allowing two runs—one earned—on eight hits over four innings while striking out three.
