WESTON, W.Va. — Bridgeport was unable to hold off Lewis County, falling 6-2 to the Minute Maids on Monday at Robert L. Bland Middle School.

Lewis County responded in the bottom of the fourth inning to regain control. Sherrard delivered an RBI single to center field, and Oldaker followed with another run-scoring hit to put the Minute Maids in front.

Lewis County added to its lead in the fifth inning when Smith connected on a solo home run to left field.

Oldaker earned the win in the circle for Lewis County, turning in a dominant complete-game performance. She allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out 13 and walking two.

Addison Mike took the loss for Bridgeport, going six innings and allowing five runs, four of them earned, on 11 hits while walking two.

Offensively, Knight and Humble each drove in a run for Bridgeport, while Reese Van Zant and Humble recorded two hits apiece.
