GRAFTON, W.Va. — Bridgeport was unable to keep pace with Grafton on Saturday, dropping a 7-3 decision to the Bearcats at Grafton High School.
Grafton took an early lead in the first inning, capitalizing on a Bridgeport error to get on the scoreboard. The Bearcats added to their advantage in the third with a triple to center field to make it 2-0.
Addison Mike took the loss for the Lady Indians, pitching six innings and allowing seven runs, five of them earned, on nine hits.
Offensively, Gracia Knight led Bridgeport with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-4 at the plate. Bree Laxton and Amayah Clark each added two hits, while the Lady Indians also turned a double play defensively.
Bridgeport will look to bounce back Monday when it hosts Elkins.
