GLEN DALE, W.Va. — Bridgeport struggled to keep pace with a powerful John Marshall lineup, falling 12-0 on Friday at John Marshall High School.
John Marshall wasted no time setting the tone, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
The Monarchs extended their advantage in the second inning, plating six more runs on five hits.
Reese Van Zant took the loss for Bridgeport, allowing 12 runs on 13 hits over four innings of work.
Gracia Knight accounted for Bridgeport's lone hit, finishing 1-for-1 at the plate. Defensively, the Lady Indians played a clean game without committing an error, with Knight leading the team with four chances.
Bridgeport will look to regroup Monday when it hosts Buckhannon-Upshur.
