The Greg Van Zant coaching debut with the Indians began with a 5-4 road win over Capital on Saturday in Charleston. Bridgeport scored the first run of the game on a walk. Reese Van Zant led the Indians with three hits as the Cougar pitching walked the Indians seven times in the game.

Addison Mike got the win, giving up 11 hits but just three earned runs.

Bridgeport will open the home portion of the schedule, hosting Bethlehem Center (PA) on Monday at 5 pm at the BHS softball field.
