The Indians junior varsity season got off to a quick start in a 30-0 win over Buckhannon Upshur on Monday in a rain-shorten game. The Indians scored on the opening play of the season as Landen Gillum raced 65 yards for a score. Rider Pepper-Jackson added a successful two-point conversation.
Gillum would score again on the Indians next series, capping a 6-play drive with a 1-yard plunge he would also add the two to make it a 16-0 lead with 6:06 in the first quarter.
Rider Pepper-Jackson would score next on a 26-yard scamper with Austin Harbert scoring the extra point to extend the lead to 22-0.
Gillum would score his third touchdown of the first half with 6:21 to play.
A torrential rain storm came during halftime and the game was called with the Indians leading 30-0.
On defense, Bryson Lowther led the charge with three tackles for loss including back-to-back plays.
The Indians JV's will travel to Morgantown next Monday night at 6pm.
