The Bridgeport junior varsity remained unbeaten on the season with a 32-12 win over Robert C. Byrd on Monday night at Wayne Jamison Field.

Sam Goodwin rushed for 130 yards on 8 carries and scored twice to lead the Indian's rushing attack, Landen Gillum added 76 yards while John Knight tallied 66 yards.

Bridgeport took an early 8-0 lead on a two play 31 yard drive set up by a strip tackle and recovery by Owen Gillespie.

RCB answered back and cut the lead to two points but the Indians answered quickly on a 15 yard Goodwin run who also added the successful two point conversion.

The Indians would score twice in the second half on a Gillum 26 yard run and a 22 yard touchdown by Knight.

Preston Kirsch and Juan Pablo Cortez would end the Flying Eagles final scoring chance with back to back sacks to end the game.

Bridgeport's JV's have not lost a game since the 2019 season at Preston. The Indians will next host Brooke on Monday October 2nd at 6pm
