KINGWOOD, W.Va. — A dominant offensive performance powered the Bridgeport Indians to a 15-0 shutout victory over Preston on Monday.
Bridgeport was led by Luke Rohrig, who drove in four runs on three hits, highlighted by a three-run home run to right field in the fourth inning and an RBI double in the third.
The Indians broke the game open in the second inning, plating five runs. Christian Farley delivered an RBI single, and Kasen Baun capped the frame with a three-run home run to center field to give Bridgeport an early cushion.
Bridgeport continued to build its lead in the third, scoring six runs on six hits. Aiden Dunn sparked the inning with a two-run double, Rohrig followed with an RBI double, and Cole Arnett added a two-run single. Cooper Straley later drove in another run with a base hit to extend the advantage.
The Indians tacked on four more runs in the fourth inning. Julian brought home a run with a single before Rohrig's three-run homer put the finishing touches on the lopsided win.
Baun earned the victory on the mound for Bridgeport, allowing just one hit over three scoreless innings while striking out eight and walking three. Dunn added a scoreless inning in relief, giving up no hits while striking out one.
Bridgeport totaled 12 hits in the game, with Baun recording two hits in three at-bats. The Indians also showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, and were flawless defensively, committing no errors. Farley led the team in the field with seven chances.
