Pool Success

The Bridgeport High School swim teams delivered strong performances over the weekend, earning impressive results at two meets.

On Friday evening at The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport, the boys' team dominated the competition, finishing first with 188 points. Grafton placed second with 52 points, followed by Northern Garrett (Md.) with 16 points.

The girls' team also claimed first place at the meet, scoring 90 points. Northern Garrett (Md.) finished second with 42 points, Grafton placed third with 28 points, and Southern Garrett rounded out the field with 6 points.

Bridgeport returned to competition on Saturday, January 3, at the Mohawk Invitational in Morgantown. The boys' team continued its strong showing, winning the 11-team meet with 298 points. Morgantown finished second with 235 points, while Wheeling Park placed third with 211 points.

The girls' team finished fourth in a competitive 12-team field. John Marshall claimed first place with 257.2 points, followed by Morgantown with 233.3 points and Herbert Hoover with 227.5 points.

Bridgeport will be back in action on January 10, when the teams travel to Parkersburg to compete in the Penguin Invitational.
