High School track and field regional meets will take place and they will look a little different than years past.
Â
In an on-going effort to attempt and get the state's very best at the state meet, automatic qualifying in track events and three of the field events have been altered.
Â
The top two results in all running events as well as long jump, shot put and discus, from each of the four regions will automatically qualify for the state meet. Additionally, the next best eight results regardless of region will qualify.
Â
Previously, the top three from each region and the next best four regardless of region advanced.
