Carter Zuliani broke his own school record in the discus during the Bridgeport boys track team's third-place finish last weekend at the UMWA/Husky Invitational at North Marion High School.

Zuliani took first place with a throw of 150-00 which is also the second best throw in all of Class AAA this season. Only Hurricane's Ethan Chill has one further at 153-04.

The 150-00 surpassed the mark of 147-07 he threw earlier this season that was the previous school record.

The win by Zuliani was the only first-place finish for the Indians at the meet but the shuttles team of Zuliani,
Aiden Gorby,
Sawyer Culicerto and
Gabe Martin posted a runner-up time of 1:03.09. Also,
Noah Kintz placed second in the pole vault after clearing 11-06.

Martin picked up a fourth-place finish in the 110 hurdles at 16.24 and the Indians had fourth-place finishes from three other relay teams.

In the 4x100,
Donte Pierre, Kintz, Dominick Robinson and Antonio Robinson joined forces to run a 45.87. The Robinsons along with Gorby and Kieran Moore posted a time of 1:36.02 in the 4x200. The Robinsons were joined by Martin and
Alex Moses for a time of 3:42.14 in the 4x400.

For the BHS girls,
Myleigh Smell posted a par of runner-up finishes in the open hurdle events and was part of the second-place 4x400. Her 100 hurdles time was 16.38 and she crossed the finish line at 48.98 in the 300s.

She was joined on the 4x400 team by
Abigale Stewart, LeeAnn Gaskins and Emma Kniceley-See. They posted a time of 4:24.08.

Stewart was also the runner-up in the high jump at 4-10 and
Lyza Halterman was second in the discus at 102-02.

Haydn Henderson gave the BHS girls a third-place finish in the long jump at 16-02.50.

Giana Cox finished fourth in the 100 at 13.01 and fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:02.14.

The 4x100 team of
Eliza Perine, Kniceley-See,
Savannah Courtney and Henderson came in fourth at 52.92.

In the shuttles,
Myleigh Smell, Bria Smell,
Carley Lattea and Katie Backus finished fourth with a time of 1:09.22

Halterman added a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 34-00.
