Bridgeport swept the team titles at the season-opening Connect-Bridgeport Invitational on Friday at Wayne Jamison Field and won a combined 11 events.

The BHS boys finished with 164 points. Runner-up Hampshire had 92 and was followed by Mountain Ridge with 66, Buckhannon-Upshur with 58, Grafton with 56, Trinity with 50, South Harrison with 39 and Preston with 30.

The BHS girls took first place with 176 points. Hampshire was second at 111 and followed by Mountain Ridge with 81, Preston with 48, Buckhannon-Upshur with 44, South Harrison with 41, Northern Garrett with 34, Trinity with 7 and Notre Dame with 4.

Timmy Jeffress had a jump of 22-00 to take first place in the long jump.
Gabe Martin was fourth at 18-11 and
Aiden Gorby was sixth at 18-03.

Noah Kintz cleared 12-00 to win pole vault. Also for the Indians,
Patrick Aucremanne and Parker Muncy finished second and third. Aucremanne cleared 9-06 and Muncy vaulted 9-00.

Carter Zuliani had a throw of 147-07 to win the discus.
Wes Brown was third at 117-04 and Bear Metheney was fourth at 115-05.

Brown won the shot put with a throw of 45-03.50. Zuliani was fourth at 39-08 and
Brody Abraham was fifth at 38-04.

Also for the BHS boys,
Jackson Holtz was the runner-up in the high jump at 5-08.

In the 110 hurdles,
Gabe Martin was the runner-up with a time of 16.20 and
Sawyer Culicerto was sixth at 19.00.
Â
Alex Moses, Jeffress, Dante Piere and Donovan Williams were the runner-up in the 4x200 with a time of 1:32.60.

In the 300 hurdles, Gorby was fourth at 45.10 and Culicerto was fifth at 45.70.
Â
Jeffress was fourth in the 100 at 11.11 and Moses and Pierre were tied for sixth at 11.40.
