The Bridgeport Indians junior varsity team found the end zone early and often in a 64-6 road win at Preston on Monday night.
Landen Gillum took the opening kickoff and raced 76 yards for a touchdown to begin the game. Sam Goodwin ran in the two point conversion for the early 8-0 lead.
The Indians would score two more times in the next three minutes of game action as Grant Hoskins scored from 15 yards out and Rider Pepper Jackson raced 24 yards for a score. Both two point conversions were successful from Pepper Jackson and Eli Knight to give the visitors a 24-0 lead.
Goodwin would pick off a Preston pass, his first of two interceptions on the night would set up a one yard Austin Harbert touchdown plunge.
Goodwin would score the next two touchdowns first on a 1 yard run at the 6:53 mark of the second quarter and then on a 45 yard INT return for a score.
Jack Matheny would run in a two point conversion to make the lead 56-0 at halftime.
The teams agreed to a shortened second half and both teams would score in third and final quarter including Sawyer Culicerto on a 15 yard touchdown run to make the final score Bridgeport 64 Preston 6.
The Indians are scheduled to be off on October 23rd but are trying to find a game if not the JV's will close the season on the 30th in Wheeling against Linsly.
