The Bridgeport junior varsity football team forced five Parkersburg South turnovers and Graham Vincent rushed for 147 yards and accounted for two touchdowns as the Indians beat the Patriots 33-7 on Monday night at Wayne Jamison Field.
Vincent rushed for a two yard score to give the Indians the lead with 5:51 in the first quarter. Vincent also passed for a score on a 45 yard hook up with Sean Veltri in the third quarter. Jared Rhodes also posted his first 100 yard rushing performance of the season with a 102 yard effort on 10 carried and also scored a touchdown. Sophomore Roman Lopez rounded out the scoring with an 8 yard run late in the fourth quarter.
The defense intercepted two South passes including picks from Vincent and Sawyer Culicerto. Malachi Nuse, Eli Knight, and Issac Mitchell also recovered Patriot fumbles. The JV team stayed unbeaten on the season at 5-0 and will be back in action on Monday 10/ 21 at Preston at 6pm.
