Bridgeport High School Indians

Tyler Phares was named the Indians 20th head coach in February of 2021.

In his first season at the helm, Phares led the Indians to a 12-1 record in 2021 and an appearance in the Class AAA semi-finals. The 12 wins was the best mark for a first year head coach in school history. Also under Phares, the Indians rushed for 5,420 yards IN 2023, the best best mark in school history. The Indians also posted 47.3 points per game which was the best scoring average for a season in Bridgeport football history. 

The Elkins, West Virginia native began his coaching career as the offensive line coach at his alma mater Elkins in 2010. He was named the offensive coordinator under Head Coach Greg Hott and served in that role in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. 

Phares became the O.C. at William Campbell High School in Naruna, Virginia from 2013-2015.

He also spent two season at Morgantown High School as the offensive line coach. 

The West Virginia Wesleyan graduate is currently employed on the faculty at Bridgeport High.
