Baseball Shuts Out Pikeview

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Behind a dominant performance on the mound from Owen Sondericker, Bridgeport rolled to a 5-0 victory over PikeView on Friday at Marshall Thundering Herd Baseball Field.

Sondericker was in complete control throughout, firing a complete game shutout to lead the Indians. He kept PikeView off balance all afternoon, allowing minimal offensive opportunities while securing the win.

Bridgeport wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, plating two runs in the bottom of the first inning. An error by PikeView opened the door, and Aiden Dunn followed with an RBI single to center field to give the Indians an early advantage.

The Indians added to their lead behind a steady offensive effort, finishing with nine hits on the day. Luke Rohrig, Dunn, and Vass each recorded two hits to pace the lineup, while Dunn drove in a team-high two runs in a 2-for-3 performance.

Defensively, Bridgeport was flawless, committing no errors in the field. Christian Farley led the way with 11 defensive chances, anchoring a strong effort behind Sondericker.

With the win, Bridgeport moves to 2-1 heading into its next matchup, as the Indians face Herbert Hoover on Saturday in Huntington.
