RACHEL – The Bridgeport Indians track teams turned into more strong performances in the UMWA Husky Invitational at North Marion on Friday evening.
The boys tallied 110.5 points to finish behind only University (203) and the girls were a close third with 95 points, trailing John Marshall (106) and University (96).
For the boys, Will George continued his domination of the sprinting events, taking the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.05 seconds, 0.24 ahead of his nearest competitor.
George was also part of a second-place finish in the 4x100 relay in a time of 45.52 seconds, running with Carson Bastin, JT Ritter and Aiden Gorby, and in the 4x200 relay, finishing in 1:33.31 along with Ritter, Kieran Moore and Bastin.
Graham Vincent won the high jump, clearing 6-00.
The shuttle hurdles relay of Vincent, Sawyer Culicerto, Braeden Matthis and Gorby were runners-up in 1:00.59, just 0.3 seconds behind winners University.
It was a strong meet for Culicerto and for Moore individually as well.
Culicerto placed second in the 300 meter hurdles in 41.95 seconds and was third in the 110 hurdles (16.37 seconds)
Moore was third in the 300 hurdles (42.49 seconds) and fourth in the 400 meter dash (51.99 seconds).
Jaylen Brown (45-10.25) claimed second in the shot put, with Harrison Hall (42-9.50) in fourth.
Parker Muncy was fourth in the pole vault with a top clearance of 10-00, with Tildon Cope (9-00) in sixth.
Gorby was sixth in the long jump with a best of 19-8.50.
William Henderson (122-3) placed sixth in the discus.
The 4x800 relay of Graham Northey, Muncy, William Northey and Troy Zorick finished fifth in 8:54.16 and Zorick (10:06.78) brought home sixth in the 3200 meter run.
Ritter made the finals in the 200 meter dash, placing seventh in 24.14 seconds.
Matthis also made the 110 hurdles finals, placing seventh in 17.39 seconds.
