Sondericker Drives In Four as Baseball Tops #2 Morgantown

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Owen Sondericker delivered a strong all-around performance Tuesday, driving in four runs to lead Bridgeport to an 8-1 victory over Morgantown. The second ranked team in Class AAAA according to the MetroNews Power Poll.

Morgantown struck first in the second inning, taking a 1-0 lead after Henkins drew a bases-loaded walk.

Bridgeport responded in the third inning to take control. Sondericker tied the game with a sacrifice fly, and Kasen Baun followed with a two-run triple to give the Indians a 3-1 advantage.

The Indians continued to build their lead as Sondericker added a two-run single in the fifth and another RBI single in the sixth.

Aiden Dunn earned the win on the mound with a complete game effort, allowing just one unearned run on five hits over seven innings while striking out three and walking four.

Bridgeport's offense was steady throughout, finishing with multiple contributors. Sondericker, Luke Rohrig, and Guy Avolio each collected two hits, helping power the Indians to the win.

The Indians return to action Wednesday when they host University.
