MORGANTOWN – The Bridgeport girls track & field team tied for third and the boys finished fourth at the Mountaineer Showcase meet at Mylan Park on Saturday.
The Tribe girls scored 83 points to even up with Musselman, trailing only Greenbrier East (119.5) and University (90).
Becky Pepper-Jackson took second place in the discus with a best of 116'3 and threw 37'9 in the shot put for third place.
Haydn Henderson leapt 16'2.5 for a second-place mark in the long jump.
Aria Selario ran third in the 800 meters in 2:26.05 and fourth in the 1600 meter run in 5:12.27 and Bethsayed Dankiewicz was third in the 3200 meters in 12:02.48 and fifth in the 800 in 2:31.09.
Katie Backus placed third in the high jump, clearing 4'8.
Isla Tobrey cleared 7'6 for a fourth-place result in the pole vault.
The shuttle hurdles relay of Tobrey, Carley Lattea, Kennedy Wolfe and Backus finished fourth in 1:11.70.
Henderson, Taylor Randolph, Jenny Ruble and Emma Kniceley-See placed fourth in the 4x200 relay in 1:52.91.
Henderson also finished fifth in the 200 meter dash in 27.58 seconds and was part of a fifth-place run in the 4x400 relay in 4:30.59 along with Kniceley-See, Selario and Dankiewicz.
Kniceley-See placed sixth in the 100 meter dash in 13.14 seconds and was also part of a sixth-place 4x100 relay that also saw Randolph, Ruble and Ellie Bongiorno run legs in a total time of 54.46 seconds.
Bridgeport's boys scored 56.5 points, trailing only University (133), Spring Mills (118) and Musselman (87).
