Girls And Boys Take Connect-Bridgeport Meet

Not bad for the first try.
 
At Friday night's Connect-Bridgeport Invitational at Wayne Jamison Field, Bridgeport won the boys track & field team race with 229 points, 85 ahead of second-place Hampshire, while the Tribe girls posted 176 points to best the same Trojans by 40 points.
 
On the boys side, Will George was a double winner in the sprints, taking the 100 In 11.29 seconds (Gavin Williams was also fourth in 11.68 and JT Ritter sixth in 12.07) and the 200 in 22.85 seconds (Williams' 24.03 and Ritter's 24.21 made it a 1-2-3 Tribe sweep in the event).
 
William Northey (2:08.30) and Troy Zorick (2:10.58) were 1-2 in the 800 meter run, then switched spots in the 1600, with Zorick first in 4:41 and Northey second in 4:46.70; Parker Muncy (4:53.06) was fourth in the 1600 and Graham Northey (5:04.63) fifth.
 
Kieran Moore claimed victory in the 300 meter hurdles in 43.09 seconds.
 
Bridgeport won the shuttle hurdles by over seven seconds, with the team of Gabe Martin, Sawyer Culicerto, Aiden Gorby and Graham Vincent running a time of 1:02.73.
 
Jaylen Brown won the shot put by a full seven feet over teammate Brody Abraham, 45'6 to 38'6, while Tytan Martin brought home fourth at 35'9.
 
Brown also placed second in the discus with a throw of 113'11, with Dylan Richard getting sixth at 104'0.
 
Culicerto placed second in both the 110 hurdles (16.86 seconds) and 300 hurdles (43.17 seconds); in the 110, Martin (17.64) was third, Braeden Matthis (16.82) fourth and Lawson Salisbury (19.00) fifth; Gorby (44.63) claimed third in the 300.
