Bridgeport High School took home a runner-up in regional wrestling action Wheeling Park High School and saw nine wrestlers punch their tickets to the upcoming state tournament.

University was the regional winner with 290.5 points. The Indians earned second by finishing with 200.5 points in the eight-team field Satruday.

The Tribe had three wrestlers win their respective weight classes.
Eli Knight (215),
John Knight (165), and
Tyler Mason (138) took home individual titles.Â

For
Eli Knight, there was another special moment during the competition. He picked up his 100th career win with the Indians.

BHS had one wrestler finish in the runner-up spot in individual competition.
Kaleb Ice took second place in the 150-pound weight classification.Â

Five wrestlers came in third place in their respective weight classifications. The wrestlers finishing third include

Gabe Martin (190),
Maddox Pudder (157), Max Smith (113), and TJ Bearden (120).

The Indians will now have time to practice, rest up and get healthy before heading to the state tournament. It will be held March 5-7. The competition takes place at the Marshall Health Network Arena in Huntington.
