Frankfort is headed back to the state tournament after defeating Bridgeport, 10-6, in Game 3 of the Class AAA Region II Super Regional.
 
 
Jaxon Hare picked up the win on the mound for the Falcons, now 22-8, and delivered the go-ahead run with an RBI single in the top of the sixth.
 
Frankfort is the Class AA defending state champions but was moved up to AAA for baseball this year and will drop back down to AA the next school year when the new classifications kick in.
 
 
Bridgeport finishes the season at 26-10.
 
 
Frankfort would go on to add three insurance runs in the top of the seventh, the big blow being a two-run double from Blake Jacobs.
 
"Everybody's goal as a coach is to hopefully get your leadoff guy on," BHS coach Robert Sheilds said. "They did that. Eleven hits, six walks two hit batters, that's a lot of men touching those bases.
 
"Hats off to my kids though. We're a scrappy bunch, we fought back. It was a good game all the way to the end. They got those insurance runs in the seventh and that hurt. Hats off to Frankfort, they are reigning state champs and hopefully they go down there and do what they are supposed to do."
 
The Falcons got one in the top of the first but it could have been worse for the Indians as Frankfort loaded the bases with nobody out.  However, Lanson Orndorf scoring when Rhett Sensabaugh reached on a fielder's choice was all the Falcons could get off starter Blake Butcher.
 
After the Indians were set down in order in the bottom half of the first, Butcher hit the first two batters he faced in the second and was promptly relieved by Aiden Dunn.
 
Orndorf hit a sacrifice fly to extend Frankfort's lead to 2-0.
