Bridgeport High School came up short to win the WVSSAC Region II Class AAA Cheerleading crown at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center Wednesday evening, Nov. 19. The Indians placed second.
 
Brooke won the championship.
 
BHS qualified to compete on the state level after winning the Region II Class AAA cheer championships held Sat., Nov. 8 at Lincoln High School. Robert C. Byrd placed runner-up at regionals and also competed at the state competition.
 
 The 2025-26 team BHS Indian Cheer Team members are Nhya Knepper, Bailey Root, Lilly Wolfe, Gabby Horne, Ansley Leach, Camille Miller, Tayla Pitsenbarger, Scarlett Edgell, Daphne Taylor, Ashlyn Miller, Liam Paulsen, Skyla Reider, Nina Spatafore and Addy Willis. Coach is Natalie Hathaway, assistant coach is Janet Hathaway and team choreographer is Ryan DeMary.
