Bridgeport's football team kept rolling this evening as the Indians hammered out a 49-0 win against Big 10 opponent Grafton at Wayne Jamison Field.
Â
The win kept the Tribe unbeaten at 9-0. The Bearcats fall to 1-7 with the setback.
Â
Gavin Williams had another huge game for the Indians. He finished with 121 yards on just seven carries and three touchdowns.
Â
The Indians played their reserves throughout the second half. Bridgeport scored all 49 of its points in the first half, which was more than enough for the home team's defense. Bridgeport finished with its first shutout of the season.
Â
BHS will look to finish the regular season unbeaten next Friday. However, it will perhaps be the stiffest challenge of the season as the Indians go up against rival Fairmont Senior, which is putting together another strong season.
Â
With the Indians ranked No. 2 in this week's WVSSAC poll, a win next week against a solid Polar Bears squad could lock them into a top two position in Class AAA. Being ranked first or second in the final poll guarantees homefield games throughout the postseason.
Â
Bridgeport and Fairmont Senior will kickoff next week at 7 p.m. The game will be at Jamison Field.Â
