Bridgeport High School is now accepting public nominations for the inaugural class of the Bridgeport High School Sports Hall of Fame.
The nomination period will open on Monday, May 4, and remain open through Sunday, May 17. Community members are encouraged to submit deserving candidates for consideration by completing the online nomination form at https://bridgeportindians.com/sb_output.aspx?form=4.
Nominees may be submitted in the following categories:
• Athletics
• Coaching
• Administration
• Miscellaneous Areas
Former student-athletes become eligible for consideration ten years after graduating from Bridgeport High School.
Coaches and administrators are eligible five years after leaving their position. Those with ten or more years of service to the athletic department are eligible immediately following the conclusion of their tenure.
Candidates should have demonstrated outstanding athletic, coaching, or administrative achievement at the state or conference level while bringing positive recognition to Bridgeport High School. Examples include all-state or all-conference honors, as well as participation in state championship competition.
The Bridgeport High School Sports Hall of Fame was established to recognize and celebrate the outstanding individuals who have made lasting contributions to the proud tradition of Bridgeport athletics. Community members are encouraged to participate in honoring the legends who have helped shape that legacy.
The class will be announced on Connect-Bridgeport in August.
