Five Bridgeport High School wrestlers will participate in the state wrestling championship meet this week in Huntington.

The three-day event will occur from March 6-8 at the Marshall Health Network Arena.

Action will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with first-round matches in both Class AAA and Class AA/A.

For BHS,
Kaleb Ice (24-11) will face Parkersburg's Dominic Way (40-6) in an opening-round match in the 138-pound weight class.

The Indians'
Maddox Pudder (12-10) will clash with Spring Mills' Blake Messick (27-12) in a first-round bout in the 144-pound weight class.

At 150, Bridgeport's
Alex Naternicola (25-7) will battle Martinsburg's Collin Schaffner (34-9) in the first round.

Fresh off a runner-up finish at the Region I championship meet, Bridgeport's
John Knight (26-3) will face Parkersburg's Parker Woods (31-15) in the first round of the 157-pound weight class.

Rounding things out for the Indians is
Eli Knight (26-2), the Region I champion at 190. He will take on Winfield's Tristan Tihpen (35-12) on Thursday.
