On Saturday morning, the Bridgeport boys won each relay and three individual races to take the overall regional championship with 199 points at the Bridge. The 400 free relay team of Nate Dotson,
Oren Sutphin,
James Hadjis, and Owen Gutherie set a new meet record in the win. The 200-meter relay with
Jacob Keener,
Cole Parsons,
Anderson Mitchell, and
Carter Zuliani won along with the free relay team.
Gutherie set a new meet record in the 100 free, he also took the 50 free race. Keener won the 500 free. Aside from the relay participants
Patrick Hammond and Zach Nicholson also qualified for states.
The girls finished second to Elkins by a 124-97 score. Freshman
Emma Ahmed won the 200 free and she also qualified in the 100 free. The girls also will compete in the 200 medley and 400 free. In addition to the relays,
Amelia Romano was second in the 200 and 500 free. Marsh also placed second in the 100 back.
The state meet will be on February 20th and 21st at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
